Marking on the Fly (MOF)
The choice of the right CO₂ laser wavelength plays a decisive role for industrial labelling processes in running production lines "Marking on the Fly". The two most common variants are the classic Carbonline CO₂ laser with 10,650 nm and the specialised Carbonline CO₂ laser with 9,300 nm. Both wavelengths are generally suitable for MOF applications, but differ significantly in their effect on different materials, marking quality and integration into line processes.
The Carbonline CO₂ lasers with 10,650 nm are used particularly frequently in the marking of paper, cardboard, glass, wood, leather and anodised aluminium. The wavelength offers good absorption in many organic materials, resulting in reliable engravings and labelling with sufficient contrast. Thanks to its high availability and proven integration into line systems, this type of laser can be used very economically. Thanks to the robust technology, high line speeds can be easily achieved, even with simpler synchronisation systems.
